Moving within Ajman starts from AED 300 to AED 600 for a studio or one-bedroom flat and AED 750 to AED 1,300 for a two to three-bedroom apartment. A villa move runs AED 1,700 to AED 3,500. Registering the tenancy contract at Tasdeeq costs 2% of the annual rent, with a minimum of AED 400.
Ajman is the cheapest emirate to move inside and the easiest one to get wrong. The quote is low, so nobody scrutinises it — and then the truck turns up at 7am on Sheikh Zayed Street, which is inside Ajman Police's heavy-vehicle banning hours, and the move does not start when you were told it would.
There is a second trap, and it is on the paperwork rather than the road. Your Tasdeeq attestation is 2% of the annual rent, payable up front at registration. In Ras Al Khaimah the equivalent fee is spread across twelve monthly utility bills; in Al Ain the registration fee is AED 50 a year and the landlord pays it. Three emirates, three completely different structures, and the Ajman one hits in the same week as the move.
Government figures are from Ajman's own service catalogue and EtihadWE, linked below. Prices are read off movers' published pages in October 2026. ⚠️ Four of the six Ajman price pages we read publish byte-identical tables on their Ajman, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah pages. Identical tables are templated city pages, not Ajman pricing, and we have not used them to claim Ajman is cheaper or dearer than anywhere else. The tables below use only the sources whose Ajman figures actually differ from their other emirates. None of them states whether VAT is included.
How much does it cost to move house in Ajman?
Moving prices in Ajman are published by home size with a time estimate attached, which is more useful than a flat figure because the crew hours are what you are really buying. The table below is from the two sources whose Ajman figures are Ajman-specific.
An Ajman-to-Dubai move is published at AED 900 to AED 3,000 against AED 300 to AED 600 for a local studio, so the emirate border is worth two to five times the job. Movers that price cross-emirate work as one flat figure for the whole route, as one Ajman mover states explicitly, are usually cheaper than ones charging by the hour once the truck leaves the emirate.
When can a moving truck drive in Ajman?
Ajman Police restrict heavy vehicles on Sheikh Zayed Street and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street between 5.30am and 9am, and between 2pm and 9.30pm. The restriction took effect on Tuesday 22 July 2025. The table sets out what was announced.
The third row is the one to raise with your mover. As reported by Khaleej Times on 18 July 2025, "the full ban remains in effect on all other roads of the emirate". Whether a particular moving truck falls inside the heavy-vehicle definition is a question for the mover and for Ajman Police, not something we can answer for your job — so ask both before you fix a time.
What does the Tasdeeq fee cost on an Ajman tenancy contract?
Ajman Municipality and Planning Department attests residential lease contracts through Tasdeeq, and the fee is published on Ajman's own service page in one sentence: "Authentication of the lease contract document for housing purposes is calculated at 2% of the annual rent and estimated at a minimum of AED 400." The service is processed within 10 minutes.
On an AED 30,000 flat in Al Nuaimiya that is AED 600, payable at registration rather than spread over the year. Our guide to the Ajman tenancy contract and Tasdeeq covers the documents and the process in full.
What does EtihadWE charge to connect power in Ajman?
EtihadWE supplies Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, and its published Service Activation fee is "None through digital channels, AED 50 if requested through a service centre", with an expected time of 1 working day. Apply online and the activation itself is free.
Two details matter for the timing of your move. The documents required include a tenancy contract approved by the Municipality, which means Tasdeeq comes before the power. And on the deposit, EtihadWE's published wording is only that utilities are activated "within 24 hours after payment of the deposit, if any".
What makes an Ajman move more expensive than the quote?
Ajman's housing stock is the cost driver, and it is tower-heavy in a way that surprises people who assume a cheap emirate means low-rise. Emirates City alone contains 92 mixed residential and commercial towers ranging from 20 to 60 floors, on the development's published figures, with direct highway access that makes it a commuter base for Dubai and Sharjah.
A 25th-floor move needs a lift, a lift booking and a crew that is not carrying a wardrobe down stairs. The published tower data we could verify does not distinguish a dedicated service lift — one Emirates City development publishes 8 towers of 25 floors each with 4 elevators per building, without identifying any of them as a service lift. Confirm with your own building management rather than assuming.
- Al Nuaimiya — the most sought-after area for renting apartments in Ajman, central and mixed-budget, so moves here are predominantly apartment moves with lift access.
- Al Rashidiya — urban and busy, with retail and restaurant frontage that constrains where a truck can actually stop.
- Ajman Corniche — beachfront apartments on a promenade, where access is the constraint rather than floor count.
- Emirates City — high-rise towers on Emirates Road, the one Ajman location where floor height and lift availability dominate the price.
✓ Ask which roads the truck will use, and whether any are inside the 5.30am–9am or 2pm–9.30pm bands
✓ Ask whether the mover holds an Ajman Police Heavy Vehicle Passage Permit, and what it charges you
✓ For a cross-emirate move, ask for one flat figure for the whole route, not an hourly rate
✓ Book the building lift before you book the mover, not after
✓ Get Tasdeeq attestation done before you apply to EtihadWE — the contract must be Municipality-approved
✓ Apply to EtihadWE online, where activation is free rather than AED 50
✓ Ask whether the quote includes VAT, because no Ajman mover we read says
Get three real Ajman quotes, not three copies of the same table
If four of six Ajman price pages are publishing the same numbers they publish for Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah, then most of what looks like an Ajman market rate is a template. The only way to find out what your move costs is to describe your actual flat, your actual floor and your actual date, and see which companies price it differently.
TaskRight is a verified, zero-commission home services platform in the UAE — every mover on the platform is RightPro-verified, and you hire and pay them direct. We take nothing from the job, so the figure you are quoted is the figure the mover set. Describe the move once and compare the answers on price, timing and permits.

Ajman Police restrict heavy vehicles on Sheikh Zayed Street and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street from 5.30am to 9am and from 2pm to 9.30pm, effective 22 July 2025. Khaleej Times reported that the full ban remains in effect on all other roads of the emirate, so confirm your route with the mover.
How much is the Tasdeeq fee in Ajman?
Ajman's published fee for authenticating a residential lease contract is 2% of the annual rent with a minimum of AED 400, administered by Ajman Municipality and Planning Department through Tasdeeq and processed within 10 minutes. On an AED 30,000 flat that is AED 600, payable at registration.
What does EtihadWE charge to connect electricity in Ajman?
EtihadWE publishes its Service Activation fee as none through digital channels, or AED 50 if requested through a service centre, with an expected time of 1 working day. A tenancy contract approved by the Municipality is required, so Tasdeeq attestation must come first. No residential deposit figure is published.
Is there a deposit to connect utilities in Ajman?
EtihadWE publishes no residential security-deposit figure. Its only published wording is that utilities are activated within 24 hours after payment of the deposit, if any. Figures of AED 1,000 for an apartment and AED 2,000 for a villa circulate on property blogs but appear on no EtihadWE page, so confirm the amount when you apply.
Why do Ajman moving quotes all look the same?
Four of the six Ajman mover price pages we read publish byte-identical tables on their Ajman, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah pages, which means those figures are templated city pages rather than Ajman pricing. Describe your actual flat, floor and date to get a quote that reflects your move.
Does a high floor cost more to move from in Ajman?
A high floor raises the cost of an Ajman move because crew hours rise with lift waiting and carrying distance. Emirates City alone contains 92 towers of 20 to 60 floors, and the published tower data does not identify dedicated service lifts, so confirm lift access and booking with building management before fixing a date.
