Appliance repair services across the UAE
How much does appliance repair cost in the UAE?
Appliance repair in the UAE starts from AED 80 for an oven or dishwasher and from AED 150 for a washing machine or fridge, with a diagnostic call-out from AED 99 that most companies waive if you approve the repair on the same visit. Spare parts are quoted separately, on top.
Here is the part nobody puts on their price page: the call-out fee is not the number that hurts you. The number that hurts you is the second visit — the one where the technician finally names the part, the part costs more than the machine is worth, and you have already paid twice to be told so. A technician who diagnoses properly on visit one saves you that. One who quotes a flat price before seeing the machine has not diagnosed anything. Describe the fault once below and read what comes back — then you are comparing diagnoses, not guesses.
Appliance repair in the UAE, explained
Should you repair or replace an appliance in the UAE?
A repair is worth doing when it costs less than half of a like-for-like replacement and the machine has years left. A washing machine drain pump from AED 200 on a machine three years old is an easy yes. A motor from AED 300 or a fridge compressor from AED 200 on an eight-year-old unit is the conversation worth having before anyone orders the part.
The second question is who opens it. If the appliance is still inside its manufacturer warranty, the brand’s own service centre is the first call — an independent repair can affect that cover, so ask the brand before you book anyone. Outside warranty, an independent technician is almost always faster and cheaper, and you are free to compare. What you should never accept is a firm price quoted over the phone by someone who has not seen the fault.
What we cover
Which appliances do UAE technicians repair?
Washing Machine Repair
Not spinning, not draining, leaking or tripping the power. Drain pump, drum belt, door lock and motor faults are the four that account for most call-outs — repairs start from AED 150.
Fridge & Freezer Repair
Not cooling, freezing everything, icing up or running constantly. Thermostat, fan, gas and compressor faults — repairs start from AED 150, and a compressor replacement starts from AED 200.
Dishwasher Repair
Not draining, not filling, leaking onto the kitchen floor or leaving dishes dirty. Repairs start from AED 80, and a blocked drain hose is far more common than a dead pump.
Oven & Cooker Repair
Not heating, uneven heat, a dead element or an ignition that will not catch. Repairs start from AED 80. Gas cookers and hobs should only be opened by a technician who works on gas.
Dryer Repair
Not drying, not heating, tumbling loudly or cutting out mid-cycle. Most dryer faults are a blocked vent, a worn belt or a failed thermostat rather than a dead machine.
Microwave Repair
No heat, sparking inside the cavity or a turntable that will not turn. Worth diagnosing before replacing on built-in units, where the cabinet is cut to the old model’s size.
TV Repair
No picture, no power, lines across the screen or sound without image. Common after a power cut, and often a board rather than the panel — which is the difference between a repair and a new TV.
Water Heater & Small Appliance Repair
No hot water, a tripping heater, a broken hob extractor or a built-in coffee machine. If it is plumbed or wired into the kitchen, a technician can usually quote for it.
Know your options
What kind of appliance repair visit do you actually need?
Diagnostic call-out
A technician comes, finds the fault and names the part. From AED 99 in the UAE, commonly waived if you approve the repair on the same visit. Ask which it is before they knock.
Repair with a standard part
Drain pumps, belts, door locks, thermostats, elements. The technician carries the common ones, so it is usually one visit. Washing machine drain pump replacement starts from AED 200.
Repair with an ordered part
Boards, motors, compressors and brand-specific parts are ordered in. Expect a second visit, and agree in writing what happens to the call-out fee if the part never arrives.
Installation, not repair
Plumbing in a new washing machine, fitting a built-in oven, or re-siting a fridge. A different job to a repair — say so up front so the quote covers the right work.
Annual maintenance contract
A yearly agreement covering several appliances, usually with priority call-outs. Worth pricing against one-off repairs if you own a villa full of ageing machines, and worth ignoring if you do not.
Warranty service
If the appliance is inside its manufacturer warranty, the brand’s own service centre is the first call, not an independent technician. Check the warranty card before booking anyone.
What affects the price
What does appliance repair start at across the UAE?
| Appliance or service | Repair starts from (AED) |
|---|---|
| Washing machine repair | from AED 150 |
| Fridge or freezer repair | from AED 150 |
| Dishwasher repair | from AED 80 |
| Oven or cooker repair | from AED 80 |
| Washing machine drain pump | from AED 200 |
| Fridge compressor replacement | from AED 200 |
| Washing machine motor | from AED 300 |
| Diagnostic call-out visit | from AED 99 |
The appliance itself
Ovens and dishwashers start from AED 80. Washing machines and fridges start from AED 150. Bigger machines cost more to open, more to lift and more to part-replace.
The part, not the labour
A washing machine drain pump starts from AED 200, a motor from AED 300, and a fridge compressor from AED 200. On most jobs the part, not the technician’s time, is the number that moves.
The diagnostic call-out
From AED 99 across the UAE. Many companies waive it if you approve the repair on the same visit, and charge it in full if you do not — so ask which applies before the technician arrives.
Whether the part is carried or ordered
Standard parts mean one visit. Brand-specific boards, motors and compressors are ordered in and mean two, and a second visit is where the honest quote and the cheap quote separate.
Where you are
These starting prices come from Dubai-published rate cards. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the northern emirates are quoted locally, and a villa outside the city centre can carry a travel charge.
Built-in versus free-standing
A free-standing machine is pulled out and worked on. A built-in oven or dishwasher has to come out of the cabinetry and go back in, which adds labour to the same repair.
This is exactly why TaskRight has you compare real quotes from more than one verified technician instead of trusting the first number you are given over the phone. Methodology: starting prices on this page are the lowest advertised figures published by UAE appliance repair companies, checked against TaskRight’s price ledger and last verified in August 2026. They exclude spare parts, which are quoted separately, and they are advertised starting prices, not prices paid. Last updated: September 2026.
Appliance repair in the UAE
Why is it so hard to get an honest appliance repair quote?
A flat price, quoted before anyone has looked
You describe the fault on the phone and get a confident number. The technician arrives, opens the machine, and the number changes. A price given without a diagnosis was never a price.
Two visits, two fees, one working machine
The first visit diagnoses. The second fits the part. Somewhere in between the call-out fee stopped being refundable, and nobody told you when.
Nobody will tell you it is not worth fixing
The one answer a repair company rarely volunteers is “replace it”. You find out after you have paid for the diagnosis, the part and the labour on a machine with two years left.
The TaskRight Way
How TaskRight fixes it
TaskRight is a verified, zero-commission home services platform in the UAE. Every appliance technician here is a verified RightPro, and our AI matches your actual fault to the people who fix that fault.
Every technician is verified
A trade licence check before any technician can appear on TaskRight. For someone opening a wired, plumbed machine in your kitchen, that is the baseline, not a bonus.
You compare, before you commit
Describe the fault once and several verified technicians come back with their own quotes. You read them side by side and choose. Comparing is free and you are never obliged to book.
Zero commission, so the quote is the quote
Technicians keep 100% of what you pay them. Nothing is added to your price to fund a platform cut, which is why the numbers you see here are the numbers they actually work for.
No surprises
What should happen when an appliance technician visits?
- 1They diagnose before they price. The machine is opened, tested and the actual failed component named — pump, belt, thermostat, board — before any figure is said out loud.
- 2They name the part and the price separately. Labour is one number, the part is another. A single lump sum with no breakdown is how an inexpensive part ends up inside an expensive repair with nothing you can question.
- 3They tell you when not to bother. An honest technician will say a compressor on an old fridge is not worth it. If nobody ever advises against the repair, you are being sold to, not advised.
- 4They confirm the second visit in writing. If a part must be ordered, you get the part, the price, the date and what happens to the call-out fee if it does not arrive — before they leave.
- 5They guarantee the work. Ask how long the repair is covered and whether the guarantee covers the part, the labour or both. Get the answer before you pay, not after the machine fails again.

Do you need a pro?
When should you call an appliance technician?
- Your washing machine fills and drums but the drum will not spin
- Water sits in the bottom of the washing machine or dishwasher after a cycle
- The fridge runs constantly and the food is still not cold
- Ice is building up at the back of the fridge or freezer compartment
- The oven takes far longer than it used to, or heats unevenly
- An appliance trips the circuit breaker when you switch it on
- There is a burning smell, a scorch mark or a hot plug at the socket
- The machine has started a new noise — grinding, knocking or screeching
Keep it running
How do you make an appliance last longer in the UAE?
Clean the washing machine filter
The drain filter behind the bottom panel traps coins, hair and lint. Clearing it monthly prevents the single most common drain-pump call-out on the list.
Descale, because UAE water is hard
Limescale is what kills heating elements in washing machines and dishwashers here. A descaling wash every month or two is cheaper than an element.
Leave the door ajar
A sealed drum in a humid flat grows mould on the rubber gasket. Leaving the door and detergent drawer open between washes keeps the seal alive.
Give the fridge room to breathe
Fridges push heat out of the back. Pushed flat against a wall in a hot kitchen, the compressor runs constantly and wears out years early.
Vacuum the condenser coils
Dust on the coils at the back or underneath makes the fridge work harder for the same cooling. Twice a year with a vacuum brush is enough.
Do not overload the drum
An overloaded washing machine wears the bearings, the belt and the motor at once. Half the “dead motor” jobs started as a habit of cramming the drum.
Before you hire
How do you choose an appliance repair company in the UAE?
- Confirm the company holds a valid UAE trade licence for appliance repair — every technician on TaskRight has had that checked before appearing here.
- Refuse a firm price quoted over the phone before anyone has seen the appliance — ask for a diagnostic visit and a price after it.
- Ask whether the diagnostic call-out fee is waived if you approve the repair on the same visit, and get the answer before they travel.
- Ask for the part and the labour as two separate numbers, and ask whether the part is original or compatible — the price gap between them is large.
- Ask how long the repair is guaranteed and whether the guarantee covers the part, the labour or both. Get it in writing before you pay.
Plain-English glossary
Appliance repair terms, explained simply
Diagnostic call-out fee
The charge for a technician to travel, open the appliance and identify the fault. From AED 99 in the UAE, and commonly waived if you approve the repair on the same visit.
Drain pump
The small pump that pushes water out of a washing machine or dishwasher. The most common cause of “water left in the drum”, and replacement starts from AED 200.
Compressor
The motor that pumps refrigerant around a fridge or freezer. The single most expensive part in the machine — replacement starts from AED 200 and often decides repair versus replace.
Heating element
The coil that heats water in a washing machine or dishwasher, or air in an oven or dryer. Limescale is what kills it in the UAE’s hard water.
Thermostat
The sensor that tells an appliance when to heat or cool. A cheap part with expensive symptoms — a fridge that never stops running is often a thermostat, not a compressor.
Original versus compatible part
An original part is made by the appliance brand; a compatible one is made by someone else to fit. Compatible is cheaper. Ask which you are being quoted.
Control board
The circuit board that runs the programmes. Often the real fault after a power cut, and worth checking before anyone condemns the motor or the panel.
Annual maintenance contract
A yearly agreement covering call-outs and servicing across several appliances, usually with priority response. Worth pricing against one-off repairs, not assumed to be cheaper.
