The cheapest cleaning services in Dubai advertise AED 17–25 per hour, and that is almost never the number you pay. Promotional rates carry hours attached: AED 17 requires a four-hour booking, before 5% VAT and before AED 10 an hour for materials. Standard rates run AED 30–55, and most standard cleans land at AED 35–50 per cleaner per hour.
You saw the advert. AED 20 an hour. Four hours for eighty dirhams, which is less than lunch, and you book it before the tab closes. Then a cleaner arrives with a cloth and no vacuum, because materials were a separate line you never saw. Then the invoice adds VAT. Then you try to book the same person again next week and the rate has doubled, because the first one was an introductory price.
None of that is a scam — it is arithmetic. At AED 20 an hour, something has to come out of the box — the equipment, the insurance, the supervisor, the guarantee that the same person comes back — and the only useful question is which thing. Below is every subtraction, priced from Dubai price lists opened this month, so you can decide what you are willing to give up instead of finding out on the day.
⚡ Quick Summary
- Advertised Dubai floors run AED 17–25 an hour; most standard cleans land at AED 35–50, inside a standard band of AED 30–55.
- A 4-hour clean advertised at AED 17 an hour costs AED 113.40 all-in — a real rate of AED 28.35, some 67% above the headline.
- The second clean, at the same company’s standing rate, costs AED 184.80 — AED 46.20 an hour, or 2.7 times the number that got you to click.
- One Dubai booking page’s offer rate is AED 25 an hour against its own standing rate of AED 50. Exactly half, and only while a cleaner is free in your area.
How cheap does home cleaning in Dubai actually get?
The table below lists the lowest hourly rates actually published in Dubai, checked on 20 August 2026, with the condition attached to each one. Every rate is per cleaner, and no rate in the first four rows is a standing price.
Below AED 25 an hour in Dubai you are looking at an introductory offer, a freelance rate, or a negotiated one-off — not a price you can book again in a month. And the rate a Dubai company quotes falls with the length of the booking, not with any promise to come back weekly: the same rate cards run AED 40 an hour at 2 hours and AED 30–34 at 4 or more. The same search in Abu Dhabi lands higher: the Abu Dhabi hourly band is AED 30–60 per cleaner and tapers with the length of the booking, which we broke down in our Abu Dhabi cleaning cost guide.
Why is the advertised rate never the rate you pay?
Because the advertised rate is a labour rate, and a clean is not only labour. The table below takes one Dubai marketplace’s own published price list — a new-user rate of AED 17 an hour with a four-hour minimum, a standing rate of AED 34 an hour for a 4 to 8 hour booking, materials at AED 10 an hour, VAT excluded — and runs the same booking twice: your first clean, and the one after it.
💡 The number that matters is the second one
The headline said AED 17. The first clean costs AED 28.35 an hour and the next one costs AED 46.20 — 2.7 times the advertised rate. Cheap cleaning in Dubai is priced like a gym membership: the joining offer is not the subscription.
What gets subtracted from an AED 20-an-hour clean in Dubai?
Six things come out, and every one of them is published somewhere in the small print of a Dubai price list. None of this makes a cheap cleaner a bad cleaner; a cheap rate is simply an incomplete one.
⚠️ What AED 20 an hour has to leave out
- The equipment. Materials are a separate opt-in line at AED 10 an hour on three independent Dubai price lists, so a cheap headline is a labour rate and nothing else. One Dubai booking page goes further: with one cleaner you choose either a vacuum or the chemicals-and-mopping set, not both.
- Your choice of duration. The cheapest rates attach hours: the AED 17 promotion requires four. Not all of them do — one Dubai booking page sells its AED 25 offer in a two-hour slot — so ask, because two hours of work bought against a four-hour minimum is a 100% mark-up you agreed to without noticing.
- The repeat. One Dubai booking page runs offer slots at AED 25 an hour beside its own standing rate of AED 50. The cheap price is a first date, not a relationship.
Is a cheap Dubai cleaner insured, and do you get the same person?
Usually not, and that is the half of the cheap rate nobody prices. Three more lines come out below the price, and all three are published by Dubai companies about their own service rather than inferred by us.
⚠️ What the cheap rate stops covering
- The same person twice. One Dubai marketplace guarantees the same cleaner on every plan except one-time bookings — and the cheapest booking is always a one-time booking.
- Supervision and insurance. One Dubai cleaning company’s published 2026 rate card describes its AED 25–35 tier as one untrained worker with no supplies and no insurance, and its AED 35–55 tier as a trained company employee with full supplies, insurance and a supervisor reachable by phone. Both descriptions are that company’s own words about its own price ladder.
- Control of the slot. One Dubai booking page states that offer rates depend on a free cleaner being available in your area, that arrival can be 30 minutes either side of the booked time, that no particular nationality is guaranteed at offer rates, and that balcony cleaning is unavailable between 10am and 4pm in summer. Booking today rather than next week tightens all of that further, which is priced in our same-day cleaning guide for Dubai.
Read that list again as a shopping list rather than a warning. If you own a vacuum, want four hours anyway, do not care who arrives, and are cleaning a 1-bed in JVC on a Tuesday — the cheap rate is genuinely the right buy. If your security deposit is riding on the result, you are buying the wrong product at any price.
Is a cheap hourly cleaner in Dubai worth it?
For some jobs, yes. The split is not cheap versus expensive — it is hourly versus fixed price. An hourly rate is fine when the scope is small and you can see the whole job; a fixed price protects you when the scope can grow while the cleaner is standing in your kitchen. The table below sorts the common Dubai jobs by which one you want.
Buying a deep clean by the hour is the single most expensive mistake in this category, because the clock, not the checklist, decides when the job stops. The difference in scope between a regular visit and a deep clean is set out in our deep versus regular cleaning breakdown.
What does a fair cleaning price in Dubai look like?
A fair Dubai price is AED 35–50 per cleaner per hour, with materials and VAT stated separately — standard rates run AED 30–55, and where you sit inside that is decided mostly by how long a block you book. A weekly commitment usually buys the same cleaner rather than a lower price, though one Dubai company does publish AED 30 an hour on a weekly plan against AED 34 for a one-off. For a whole-home one-off deep clean, the Dubai market runs AED 250–2,500 depending on property size, from a studio to a five-bedroom villa. The full hourly ladder, the extras and the minimum booking at your own address are priced in our Dubai maid service rate guide.
Our own data gives one more reference point that no price list publishes. Across 49 Dubai deep-cleaning jobs quoted through TaskRight to August 2026, providers asked AED 200–450. The AED 200–450 figures are asking prices — what verified providers quote when they compete for a job, not what a household finally pays. They sit at the bottom of the published market band, which is what competing for the job does to a price.
How do you get the cheap price without the cheap surprise?
✅ Seven questions that turn an advert into a price
- Is AED 20 the final price, or the labour line? Ask for the total, not the rate.
- What is the minimum booking? Three or four hours changes the whole sum.
- Are materials included, or AED 10 an hour extra?
- Is 5% VAT inside that number? A licensed Dubai company shows VAT as its own line.
- Is this rate a promotion, and what is the price of the next visit? Ask before the first one.
- Per cleaner or per team? Two cleaners at AED 34 is AED 68 an hour.
- What happens if something breaks? Get the answer in a message, before the booking.
Seven questions, ninety seconds, and the advert becomes a comparable number. Run them on three companies and the cheapest advert is rarely the cheapest clean — which is the entire point. Putting the same job in front of several verified Dubai cleaning companies at once asks all seven for you.
Between visits, the cheapest cleaning in Dubai is the cleaning you never have to buy. Ten habits carry most of it: shoes off at the door, dishes cleared nightly, surfaces cleared before bed, one room reset each evening, laundry on a fixed day, a weekly bathroom wipe, sand vacuumed out of door tracks and window channels, AC grilles wiped monthly, spills caught immediately, and a running list kept for whoever you do pay. The principle underneath them is the 80/20 rule of housekeeping: the fifth of the home seen most — entry, kitchen counters, bathroom surfaces, floors — accounts for most of what a visitor registers as clean. The daily version is the twenty-minutes-on, ten-minutes-off cadence people call the 20/10 rule.
Stop comparing adverts. Compare quotes.
An advertised rate is a marketing decision. A quote for your actual flat, on your actual date, with your actual hours, is a price. Post the job once and let verified cleaners bid for it with the minimum, the materials and the VAT already inside the number. TaskRight is a verified, zero-commission home services platform in the UAE — every cleaner on the platform is RightPro-verified, and you hire and pay them direct. Because TaskRight takes no cut of the job, nothing has to be quietly subtracted to protect a commission, and the quotes are free.

Frequently asked questions about cheap cleaning services in Dubai
How much do cleaning services cost in Dubai?
Home cleaning in Dubai costs AED 35–50 per cleaner per hour for a standard clean, inside a standard band of AED 30–55, before 5% VAT and before AED 10 an hour for materials. The rate falls as the booked block gets longer. A whole-home one-off deep clean runs AED 250–2,500 in Dubai, depending on whether it is a studio or a five-bedroom villa.
How much is a 2 hour clean in Dubai?
Two hours is the minimum most Dubai rate cards start at, and it carries the highest hourly rate on the price list: one Dubai marketplace charges AED 40 an hour for 2 hours against AED 34 for 4 to 8 hours, before materials and VAT. The cheapest promotional rates require four hours, not two.
How much can a cleaner clean in 2 hours in Dubai?
Two hours buys one cleaner, and Dubai rate cards sell that as a top-up rather than a full reset — a studio or one-bed weekly tidy, where the scope is fixed by the size of the flat. A whole-home deep clean is not a two-hour job: Dubai prices that at a fixed AED 250–2,500 by property size, not by the hour.
Where can I find cleaning services for AED 20 per hour in Abu Dhabi?
AED 20 an hour is a Dubai promotional rate rather than an Abu Dhabi standing price. Hourly cleaning in Abu Dhabi runs AED 30–60 per cleaner and tapers with the booking length, so the cheapest hour in Abu Dhabi is bought by booking a longer block, not by hunting a lower headline rate.
How much does Dubai pay for cleaners?
A household in Dubai pays the cleaning company AED 35–50 per cleaner per hour for a standard clean, plus AED 10 an hour if the company brings materials, plus 5% VAT. What the cleaner personally earns is set by their employer under their employment contract, not by the hourly rate you were quoted, and the two numbers are not the same.
What is the best cleaning company in Dubai?
The best cleaning company in Dubai for you is the one that answers six questions in writing: the minimum booking, whether materials are included, whether 5% VAT is inside the quoted number, whether the rate is per cleaner or per team, whether the price is promotional, and what happens if something is damaged. Compare those answers, not adverts.
How can I clean my house on a budget in Dubai?
Cut the cost of cleaning in Dubai three ways: book the longest block, since AED 34 an hour for 4 hours beats AED 40 an hour for 2; supply your own equipment and save the AED 10 an hour materials line; and use the 80/20 habit between visits, keeping on top of the fifth of the home that shows.
How much is a 1 hour clean in Dubai?
A one-hour clean is not sold on its own in Dubai. Rate cards start their ladder at two hours, so an hour of work bills as two — and two hours carries the highest rate on the list: AED 40 an hour against AED 30–34 at four hours or more. Materials add AED 10 an hour and 5% VAT goes on top. The cheapest promotions require four hours, not one.
What is the 20 minute rule of cleaning?
The 20-minute rule of cleaning is a habit rather than a price: clean one area for twenty minutes, then stop — with a ten-minute break it is called the 20/10 rule. In Dubai it changes what you have to buy. Twenty minutes a day keeps a home on maintenance cleaning at AED 35–50 per cleaner per hour rather than on a deep clean, which providers quote at AED 200–450.
Hourly and deep-clean bands are TaskRight’s canonical Dubai and Abu Dhabi figures. Advertised floors, minimum bookings, materials, VAT lines and rate-card tiers were taken from six published Dubai cleaning price lists and booking pages opened on 20 August 2026; providers are described by scope rather than named. TaskRight quote data: 49 Dubai deep-cleaning jobs to August 2026, asking prices. Prices reflect 2026 averages and may vary by provider, scope, and season. Last updated: August 2026.
